Who is Junor Francis??!!!!

Who is Junor Francis?!
Just one of the most dynamic Reggae Disk Jockeys ever to grace the radio! I had the honor of joining Mr. Francis at the KSPC studios to watch him work, and could barely keep up!  Mr. Francis made it look all too easy as he rolled in his chair from one side of the studio to the other, never missing a beat or a cue! Let's take a few minutes to see where all of this wonderful talent came from.
Junor Francis was born and raised in the hills of Farm, Manchester, on the South Coast of Jamaica. From there he went to Brooklyn, New York and later Southern California.   According to Mr. Francis he's been Djing  since he was born, but started his radio career in 1988.  Junor has been in studio with A wide and dynamic range of artists including Buju Banton, Capleton, Sugar Minott, Glen Washington, Lady Saw, Eric Monty Morris, LaDee Dred, Michigan, Smiley, Pat Kelly, Shinehead, Eljai, Dread Daze, Yami Bolo, Ronnie Davis, Sizzla, Wailing Souls, Garth Dennis...and many more.
I asked Mr.Francis if he does what he does for the love of music, and he replied"CD for the simple fact that a CD can be cued  as fast as lightening flash. Additionally,
I can do an instant rewind of a choice favorite song with the CD player. With records you have to be a true genius to do hall-and-pull especially on the air which I used to do with many errors!"  Junor Francis brings a heartfelt flavor that is all his own, and I can't wait to spend more time with him in studio in the future!

Fountain Of Roots!

Fountain Of Roots performed Sat Nov. 13th at the Pitzer Colleges 8Th Annual Reggae festival. Their stage presence was undeniable as they took the full attention of the crowd! From the beautiful Clothing and African- Style face paintings, to the rhythmic beating of the drums, this was truly one of the best performances of the evening. I can't help but mention the vocal stylings of the Angelics, led by the Angelic voice of Azzizah Rahim Roots. I truly felt like I was taken on a journey to the Motherland, led by Jesse Owens Roots and Terrell Smith with their hypnotic vocals, and mesmerizing drum beats .It was a performance not to be missed!
